Many have lost track of the fact that at the epicentre of the Church and the Kingdom are people. God is love and that love is why He created man in His image and likeness. That love is what made Him send His only begotten Son to die and redeem fallen humanity. That love is what regulates His relationship with mankind. Peter tells us that The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some people understand slowness. Rather, he argues, God is patient with us because He does not want anyone to perish; rather He wants everyone to come to repentance (2Peter 3:9). This informs the Great Commission of Matthew 28:16-20 and Mark 16:15-18.
The Church was founded and propagated on this central principle. It is however very sad to see that today, evangelism is the forgotten mandate. Every one of Jesus’s earthly activities was designed to bring people to the realisation of their need of salvation which could only be found in Him. As Jesus made it clear that a relationship with the Heavenly Father was the goal, no activity of Aslan LIFE’s will be an end in itself. Instead we shall be able ministers of the New Testament, empowered with the message of reconciliation. We are, as Paul poignantly puts it, ambassadors of Christ as though God were making His appeal to mankind through us as we implore and convince all and sundry, on Christ’s behalf to BE RECONCILED TO GOD.
Led by the Holy Spirit, we will devise modern and creative ways of spreading the ancient and unchanging message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a message of which we are not ashamed.
